We go north to Bundy, but climb less travelled Tigertail. On the return, we make a brief stop to view the George Sturgess House, built in 1939 by Frank Lloyd Wright. We proceed downhill and return along east Santa Monica. Note: There is a short 15% section at the end that is not for the faint of heart. It's OK to skip it as long as you
1. tell the ride leader ahead of time and
2. have patience to wait for others to return from the climb. We haven't done this route since March 2024
43.3 mi, 1596 ft, Tigertail, Frank Lloyd Wright House, East SaMo - Ride Leader : Mario
Pace : L2/L3 Ride start : 9am Start Point: the plaza just south of Captain Kidd's The Tuesday ride varies by design. If you want novelty, this is your ride. Routes vary between ~35-55 miles, 1000-3000 feet of climbing. We often go to places that would otherwise be too crowded on a weekend (eg, Hollywood Sign, Inspiration Point, Porto's, etc). We are usually done by 1-2pm, and a coffee or meal stop is customary (usually at the end; sometimes that's the destination - if so, expect a "digestion pace" on the return).
